Middlesbrough
Environment
City is committed
to working in partnership with organisations, groups and individuals from all
sectors of the community to help make Middlesbrough a more sustainable place. We have over 150
partners including local authorities, educational establishments, environmental
organisations and community groups.
Environmental Education Specialist
Working Group
In 2004,
Middlesbrough
Environment City convened
a specialist working group to help co-ordinate schools work delivered by the
different environmental organisations in the town, with the key aim of assisting
schools in contacting the most appropriate partner for help and advice.
Following an initial mapping exercise, it was agreed to provide information to
all schools on the services provided by each partner and develop better
co-ordination of information sent to schools, helping to both improve the
service provided to schools and reduce the total amount of information sent. The
group continues to meet.
It now co-ordinates Ecoschools in Middlesbrough and also runs the Schools’ days at the
annual Middlesbrough Community Environment Conference.
