| Eco Schools |
Eco-Schools is an international awards scheme that provides a simple framework to enable schools to analyse their operations and become more sustainable and environmentally friendly.
Pupils are encouraged to take responsibility for the future of their environment through review and analysis, curriculum links and practical action.
Schools can apply for Bronze or Silver Awards (self assessed via the Eco-Schools Website) or Green Flag award (independently assessed by ENCAMS approved assessors). On 10th of May 2007 Viewley Hill Primary School in Hemlington became the first Middlesbrough Eco School to attain Green Flag status.
